About The Cotswolds
The Cotswolds consist of numerous quaint towns and villages which are famous for their sandstone buildings and steeped in history. They date back hundreds of years, many of them based along the old Roman road. The “Fosse Way” dates back to AD43. The Cotswolds is truly an area of outstanding natural beauty with a vast array of places to visit. These include stately homes, castles, ancient churches, monuments and immaculately presented gardens.
Bourton on Water
There are so many beautiful villages in the Cotswolds all with their own unique character. One of the most iconic villages in the Cotswolds is Bourton on Water. This has a shallow river running through its heart and home to an array of museums and attractions. It also has a model village of itself.
Food and Local Hospitality
There are local inns with open fires, small cafés or you can join the locals at a local pub for a meal. Or how about tea with the Butler, a special tour around the iconic Bodleian Library. Or a joint day trip to two fantastic stately homes in one day.
The Surrounding Area
You can also visit to Bath renowned for its Ancient Roman baths and architecture. This is home to the only natural thermal hot springs in Britain. While you are here you must enjoy some great local designer shops.
Blenheim Palace (birthplace of Winston Churchill) is also a must-see on your Cotswold tour
Castle Coombe which has been featured in many films and TV productions such as Doctor Dolittle, Agatha Christies Poirot and War Horse to name but a few.
